Here is a list of questions I am most often asked. If you need additional help, be sure to contact me.
1. Which surfaces can I paste on?
You are going to love that you can use our chalk paste on so many surfaces. We love using our chalks on:
- Chalkboard
- Wood
- Metal
- Glass
- Ceramic
- Plastic
2. Are there surfaces that you cannot get the chalk paste off?
Yes and no. When you paint your wood with latex or acrylic paint, the only way to get the chalk off is by sanding. All other materials like chalkboard, metal, glass, ceramic or plastic are easily removed with water. Sometimes you may need to scrape what has not been removed.
3. How long does it take chalk paste to dry?
FAST! We teach you to lift your screen stencil as soon as you are finished with an area, because chalk paste dries very fast. It is important that you not let the chalk paste dry on the screen, and it is for the same the reason we also recommend washing your stencil immediately after use. Place the stencil in cold water. Gently rub the chalk off of the stencil as it sits underwater.
4. Will the chalk paste rub off when I touch it?
No. That is just one of the great things about Pelletier Craft Studio chalk paste. Once it has dried, you can rub the surface without getting chalk paste on your hands.
5. How do I get the back to be sticky again?
You are going to love how easy it is to get the back to being sticky again. Simplly add water with the plastic back off. Allow the stencil to air dry. The stencil is ready to use again with a sticky back!
6. How do I store chalk paste?
The best way to store your chalk paste is to be sure the cap is on tight and that it is sitting in an upright position. Your paste will last longer if it is maintained in a temperature of 40 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a reminder to not leave your crafting supplies in the car or in the garage. Your craft room loves the chalk paste in the room.
7. Are you ready to change up your decor?
Great! Wait until you hear how easy it is to change the decor. Using a damp cloth, wipe off the chalk paste. If it has been on for a long time, you will want to use a device similar to a credit card to scrape the chalk paste off. Be sure the surface is wet. Sometimes you will see a faint image. We call this “ghosting”. To remove the ghosting, use our damp eraser to wipe off the faint image. Happy Crafting!
